Tips for Las Vegas First-Timers

It can be alarming for first-timers. They see hands move very fast in changing chips, just like some magical show, and when they stop focusing for 30 seconds, they might end up gambling their house by mistake. It would help to brush up on the main rules ahead of time, but also to look for a smaller casino that has a younger crowd - since the tables have a tendency to be less noisy, and the minimum bets will be much lower. Even if they do not intend to, croupiers often hint when gamblers make a bad choice, and it is important to keep in mind that you are competing against the dealer and not the other players. This takes off some pressure.

Those who want to bet with pennies instead of pounds should play video poker. It is easier to pay and when they offer $3 to $5 as a tip to their waitress, then a dollar per round after, they will enjoy free all-you-can-drink beer, vodka or whisky.

Buffet Binge

Buffet is king in Las Vegas. Along the strip, there are more than one hundred fine dining restaurants. However, there are so many of these all over the world. What is nice about this is the fact that people can eat to their heart's desire all the prime cut steak, sushi, lobster rolls, giant crab legs, cakes, cookies and cheese for just about $25. They can choose to eat in this restaurant, or have breakfast at Planet Hollywood Hotel, lunch at Bellagio and dinner at Aria. It would be nice to wear stretched pants.

View the strip from the top

Anyone who will view the strip from a very high location will naturally be awed. On the other hand, it is unfortunate for a person to have a room with a view of the car park instead of the strip, but there are still many places with nice scenery.

The Stratosphere

This tower, which is 350m high and provides visitors with 360-degree panoramic views, is the tallest independent observation tower in the US. Literally above this, there is a theme park that has a number of quite terrifying rides. These are not for the fainthearted.

Mandalay Bay

What makes the top of Mandala Bay different from any other hotel view is its location on the exact south tip of the strip where the road curves. Therefore, the Foundation Room has a nearly perfect view of it. There is a cover charge, however, it is sometimes free for a group of girls.

Seeing a Show

People say that there is no best show in Vegas. When asked if it is 'le Reve', the answer is no. Is it 'Love', it is no. How about 'O' or 'Blue Man Group'? It is no to both. Seventy percent (70%) of people who go to La Vegas watch a concert/show, some of them book ahead of time, before leaving home, but most visitors watch the show in their hotel or buy tickets on the same day. If they are not desperate to watch a particular show, they can decide on the day they want to go, then show up at the booth and choose. Majority of the big hotels have their own version of Cirque du Soleil. Generally, they are alike when it comes to quality production and impressive, remarkable entertainment.
